Who pays the fee

Deduct the fee from what you receive, or add it to the price

Each service has a fee_bearer, and each payment can override it.

Example: 1,000 XAF with MTN Cameroon

Suppose your all-in price for MTN Cameroon is 3.25 % (your real price is in fee and in POST /mobile-money/quote).

Why 1,033 and not 1,032.50?

The fee is a percentage of what the customer pays, not of the value of your goods. With customer, we compute the smallest amount that leaves you at least the full value, after rounding to the operator’s decimals and including fixed fees. 1,032 XAF would leave you 999 XAF; 1,033 XAF leaves you 1,000.

Show the exact amount before your customer confirms: call POST /mobile-money/quote with fee_bearer: "customer" and display customer_pays.

Change it

• For the service: PATCH /services/{code} with fee_bearer. No new review.
• For one payment: send fee_bearer with POST /mobile-money/collections.
